Bob Baskerville emailed me this morning to say he was getting tired of being at 11,000 feet.
He was right. This book has been living inside three people’s heads.
So I’m adding 40 chapters. Of that, 23 go in between the existing 43 chapters that are already up. The other 17 go in between the 54 I haven’t written yet. The 97 chapters are now 137.
They slot in between chapters. If you ever programmed in BASIC with line numbers, you know this issue. So, a new chapter between 23 and 24 is 23.1, and if there are two, they’re 23.1 and 23.2. Nothing you have already read changes its chapter number, and no link breaks. I’ll figure out the final chapter numbering after I finish the first draft.
I’m writing them in order, starting with 20.1, so the first half of the book fills in before I go forward again. Seven people outside the trio get chapters of their own including the agent running the manhunt, Eleanor, Nadia, and a biomed technician in a Pittsburgh hospital who never agreed to any of this.
Well - none of them did since I’m just making this all up as I go along.
